Why there is ice forming on the back wall of the cooling unit?

Question

Why there is ice forming on the back wall of the cooling unit?

Answer

The more warm air flows into the interior of the refrigerator, the more likely it is that a layer of ice will form on the back wall. This is because when warm air cools down, the moisture settles on the back wall and freezes.

Note the following points:

  • Don't leave the door open too long, otherwise the appliance will constantly cool down and run at full power.
  • Perhaps the door no longer closes properly. You can check this by putting a switched-on torch in the interior, closing the door and looking in a darkened room to see if light is shining through at the edges. Where this is the case, check whether there are any objects preventing the door from closing. If necessary, remove these objects. If there were no objects in between and light is still shining through in some places, then the rubber (seal) on the door may have warped. The rubber on the door can be carefully warmed up with e.g. an ordinary hair dryer (hair dryer) and thus brought back into shape.
  • Only put food that has already cooled down in the refrigerator.
