External screen locked to 60Hz Deputy P40

Hello, I've recently bought the Deputy P40 (awesome laptop btw) but I've ran into some trouble with the external screen.

I've tried every display adapter settings in the bios (Discrete Gpu only which disable entirely the possibility of using an external screen for some reason), MsHybrid, and Dynamic. For every settings the result is the same, the external display is connected to the iGPU through the HDMI port and locked to 60Hz even if the game is rendered at 140Hz+.

For info the GPU driver is updated, I've tried multiple HDMI cables and the screen is a Legion Y25-25 capable of 240Hz with HDMI 2.0.

If someone has an idea I will gladly hear it, thanks in advance!

Hello there, @Cyanogen

As both your laptop and your separately purchased monitor both have refresh rates high enough to support 160Hz  it is likely that there is a limiting factor occurring with either the connection cable or the ports.

In order to check this could you provide me the MSN number which can be found on the label of your laptop.

Hello all,

I am not sure if I should open a new discussion or go on with this one, but @Cyanogen, I have quite the same issue as you.

I bought a LG 27gp850 which I plugged in HDMI (I used the HDMI cable provided with the monitor) to my brand new Erazer Deputy P40 (MSN 30035597) but the refresh rate seems limited to 60hz.

It is weird because in the display panel I can change resolution but not the refresh rate (59,95Hz), and it appears as it only recognizes the integrated GPU (when I open the link "GPU properties for Sreen2", it displays the properties of the integrated GPU) :

However, Windows (11) also seems to recognize the GPU (Geforce RTX 4060) :

Moreover, in the Nvidia configuration panel it appears as the HDMI port (and the integrated monitor) is only linked with the integrated GPU.

I don't know what to do now... Could you please help me !

Thanks in advance

Hello again,

As mentionned by @Cyanogen , I also tried to boot in "Discrete Gpu" mode and the external monitor is no longer detected by the system. It is as the HDMI port vanished...

Only the integrated monitor remains visible and the GPU (RTX4060) seems to run it now  :

I don't know what to think...

Hello JacobP,

Thanks for the response and sorry for the delay. The MSN of my laptop is 30035597.

I've tried many different cables and adapters and nothing worked properly; exactly like @CrFan . It feels like the HDMI port is not directly connected to the discrete GPU, I also tried a few spare usb-c adaptors I had (cheap ones i must admit) and the issue was the same.

Cheers, Cyanogen.
