So, I set up a laptop for my nephew it's a Medion Akoya E3222 convertible laptop Win 11, a Nice little machine purchased in Lidl's absolute steal for the price. I had purchased one previously, and still have it working with no problem.
He took it away and used it for a few months with no problems at all and liked it, however, he returned it to me saying he cannot use it anymore because every time Edge opens it just endlessly opens new tabs of this site support.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-edge
If you close Edge it just automatically reopens, so switching to another browser isn't a good inelegant but workable solution.
He is adamant that there is no water damage, and he's a pretty honest kid.
I'm wondering whether there is some sort of stuck hotkey that is triggering these tabs does anyone know if there is any Microsoft programmed by default?
Interestingly I downgraded to Windows 10 to see if it was OS related, and I temporarily lost the use of the keyboard, it stopped opening tabs for a while while the driver for the keyboard updated possibly?
If anyone has any ideas, I would be so grateful it's doing my head in.
A couple of images are included, I would say it's got about 50 tabs open.

Hi @curbyi
This looks like it could be an issue with the Microsoft Edge settings, resetting the MS Edge settings to their default should fix this.
1-Open the Microsoft Edge
2-Click on the three dots(...) and click on settings
3-Click on "Reset settings" on the left panel
4-Click on "Restore settings to their default values" and then click on the "Reset" button
5-When finished, relaunch the Edge and check if the problem is fixed
This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also turn off all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.
If the issue continues, it could be a corruption of the Edge installation, you can repair Edge installation on the Apps settings.
1-Click on Start then click on Settings
2-Click on Apps, then click on Installed apps
3-Search for "Microsoft Edge", click on the three dots (...) and click on "Modify"
4-Then click on the "Repair" button and follow the instructions
5-When finished, relaunch the Edge and check if the problem is fixed

Hello again. I think I've worked it out it's a faulty F1 key that is intermittently triggering. I'm going to try to sort it with the registry fix. I see a replacement keyboard is only 11 quid online that's another option. Both Windows 10 and 11 use the F1 key to open the support tap I noticed and, the penny dropped.
