Bonjour @Boulou Bienvenue sur le forum, j’aimerais confirmer le modèle, j’aurais besoin du numéro MSN (8 chiffres) Aussi quelques questions pour cerner le problème. Est-ce que ça fonctionnait proprement auparavant ? Est-ce que le problème est intermittent ? Quel format on les séries affectées/ 4K ? HD ? Nom des programmes/séries affectées ? Nom d’une série ou deux qui marche ? Dépannage possibles : mise à jour des logiciels et firmware de l’appareil.

You can of course make a claim within the time limit of the warranty once you are back in the right Geography. I hope I have covered both issues, Let me know if you need anything else. hi @sybes I am not familiar with the existence of a 3GB stick of DDR3 RAM, if there was one, only experimentation with that 8 GB RAM would tell you for sure if it worked. As for your other question, this particular machine only support up to 16GB of RAM, 2 sticks of 8GB would be ideal. if you have 2 sticks of 16GB handy to try, you could see if it worked but at your own risks. Can you tell us a little bit more about your intended use , any particular software that would require this much RAM?

Hi @sybes this model has indeed 6GB of ram but will accept 16GB, 2 stick of 8 GB would do it or 2 of 4GB if your budget does not stretch to that yet. RAM: 1x 2048 MB DDR3 SO-DIMM (PC3-12800 / 1600 MHz) 1x 4096 MB DDR3 SO-DIMM (PC3-12800 / 1600 MHz) (1/2 slots; 16 GB max.) Let me know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Hi, There seem to be a solution called "EXP GDC beast" for laptop without a thunderbolt 3. Hopefully you can make something out of it. The other way would be to look at gaming streaming services like "shadow" and the new Google stadia , this would nullify the need for an upgrade to your graphic card. I hope this suggestions help somewhat.

@jc101 I have received the pictures by mail and the ones you uploaded on the forum are now loaded. I am awaiting feedback from my colleagues as to what more info we can give you . hopefully later today or tomorrow. For a piece that is part of the motherboard we would normally just replace the whole motherboard. An out of warranty repair like that would probably come in at about 160 £ all in. We can give you a proper quote free of charge of course if you send it in .

Hi @jc101 The picture does not seem to have uploaded properly , all I get is a yellow triangle... However , looking at the BOM I see the following MSN 40059311 KTEC Plug for KSAS0180500300D5 HK UK So I guess the manufacturer is Ktec and this should be the corresponding jack for the PSUP body MSN: 40067932 PSUP Body KtecKSAS0180500300D5 INT2.5 V2 I defer to your electronic and PCB background to tel me if the above make sense to you 😉 Just needed to add that all of this is at your own risk, without any support or warranties from us if you fry your motherboard or worse.

Hi, Obviously not quite the answer you wanted but an answer nonetheless . Could you tell me what you were hoping to upgrade to? Have you considered using an external GPU enclosure? Is the hoped for upgrade for gaming or do you need the GPU for heavy compute , training ML algorithms and such like?

Hi @jacklosi Thank you very much for taking the time to provide me with this additional info. Since you can see tyhe "wireless display" as a source option, I am going to hazard that the French translation is incorrect, I will need to check with my colleagues in Germany. A bit of intensive online search shows a smattering of issues with Mirror casting on android 7 but nothing very specific or clear, however one setting needs to be checked. Do you have your router connected to your tv by cable or wirelessly? If it is with a cable , could you try wirelessly? Some cross testing: Do you have another phone/androidversion that you could try on the TV to see it it works? other things to check that might help -enable display certification on your phone (you need to enter developer mode) . This video might help -hard reset of your phone+ update to the latest android version possible. -are you using the ROM that came with the phone or did you install a third party ROM -Have you contacted your phone manufacturer for support, they may be aware of an issue/fix Sorry if this look a bit random, I have not been able to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue yet. Let me know how you get on.

HI @Nat @Fishtown is correct, the battery life on this Medion is on the short side when new , it does gets worse over time. There are some tutorial on what works to extend battery life, I like the ones from Linus tech tips , there are many others. You can buy a spare battery fron the medion service shop Let us know if you need further assistance.

Hi @jacklosi hello @Fishtown , thank you for your translations, not speaking german , I'll take your word for it and your translation to French is also correct, that I should know since I am French! 😉 @jacklosi Let's validate some assumption and troubleshoot According to the manual, you need android 4.2 minimum on your source android for it to work...Do you have that? Could you ensure you have done any firmware/software updates on the TV as necessary. And also let me know which phone/tablet and what version of android you are using. Making sure nothing else is connected to the TV , are you able to select "WIRELESS DISPLAY" as a source? Iif yes and there is NO dongle then it means the French translation is incorrect and the German one is correct. If you cannot see "WIRELESS DISPLAY" as a source option then I would assume a dongle of some sort is needed. Which seems strange to me as there is indeed wireless capabilities built in but there we are. I'll wait for your feedback.

Hi @johninstalbans Glad you liked the links, we aim to please here! 😉 You are absolutely spot on in your analysis. I have nothing against a "random" stranger( @Phantom no offense intended 😉 ) offering a modified BIOS, obviously if you had a machine under warranty , this would invalidate it and I could not possibly recomend it, but with legacy hardware , under no warranty, if you understand and are willing to take the risk of bricking your machine then have at it. The alternative would be the possibly long drawn out trial and error with a variety of legacy cards bought from various sellers until you find one that works. If I were to think out of the box on that one , I would look at a 4K chromecast or equivalent amazon or android TV box to stream your chosen TV programs directly onto your monitor and be done with it. Prices for these (with black friday around the corner and new Google launches ) are going to be very atractive and equivalent to a legacy card. Out of interest what is the maximum resolution you are achieving on that monitor with your current working card?

Hi Following on from the excelent insight by @Bodgekin there are a range of threads on various technical forums That give some insights as to the issue. As for the solution? it seem to be centre on how old (as when it whas manufactured) the graphic card is and wether or not it works with a legacy BIOS . Some other issues have been mentioned as well as possibilities such as the PCI express slot not necessarly drawing 75w .... I hope this steers you in the correct direction for your search. Let me know if there is anything else we can do to help.

Hi @martinmt here are the memmory specs you need. DDR4 SO-DIMM (PC4-21300 / 2666MHz) 2 slots, 32GB max Buy from reputable supliers with a good return policy and you should not have any issues.

Hi @martinmt Sorry about late reply, If you still need help. I would like to first identify the correct model of that series.so I can find the right specs, could you tel me the MSN of the device, it's usualy an 8 digit nuber at the back, starting 500,300,200. Once you have the MSN number you could check our Medion spare parts site to see if we have any ram for you. It's annoying the crucial site did not come up with anything they are usualy pretty good , where you able to have more success with any of their competitors?.
