Seems to be working this time around. Time will tell. Since I didn't expect it to work and the fact there isn't a installer exe for the Chipset drivers for 10 I just ran the one for 8. Have sound and battery icon. I did right click> Install on each 'setup information' ini file for the hell of it after a reboot.     EDIT: The speaker icon is no longer red cross but there is still no sound! EDIT: Did a fresh install again, ran the 8 chipset driver then the realtec driver. I have sound. I guess the when I installed the 10 drivers it broke it. ... View more

Thanks for that.  I thought it was the medion advice telephone number people who told me - two slots in the back and two in the front. Maybe not. I'll ring them again. Hi @Cauptain,    You should be able to enter the UEFI using the DEL-key, but you would need to restart Windows to be able to (Shutting the PC down and starting it again might not work due to fastboot).  Alternatively you could also try to go to the start menu, press your shift-key, keep it pressed, and then choose restart, all the while keeping your shift-key pressed. This would boot Windows into recovery mode, and under Advanced options you should be able to find an option to change UEFI firmware settings, which would reboot the PC to the UEFI.      ... Hi @Harun,    Sounds like the UEFI does not find any bootable device and because of this tries to boot from a network. Entering the UEFI with F2 should work though.  That you can't boot from the SSD before installing Windows is normal though, since there is nothing on it to boot yet. i tried to keep the on/off button pressed, but it keeps turning off and on, if I do that.   I'm currently trying to fully drain the battery (it's draining so slow without the display on), and maybe it'll work again. Hi, It came with a generation 6 i5 I believe. I acquired the board in a deal with some hardware so I don't have the medion details. I spoke personally to gigabyte UK and they said the board was oem and had to contact medion Germany. Memory is fine with the dual core. The memory works fine in an aorus board with an i7 7700k. Hi @Bodgekin, hi * I left speaker turned off from the power for about 5 days and it started to WORK again. I can finally configure it through the app, connection with WIFI sustains and etc.   Before I do that I also left it turned off for ~10 min. like it was written in other topics as a possible solution but apparently (I guess) it was to short. This time when I started to configure through the Android App whole previous configuration was gone - i recognize it so that even "Radio Name" was restored to the default value...something like "MEDION 99xxxxx". Hi @Desblb,    It is not possible to have a negative amount of sectors, so I dont think the displayed info is correct. I dont know what would cause this, but if your harddrive functions as intended I wouldnt pay to much attention to it.      ... View more

Hi @tazplan,     I don't think there is a way to controll the physical button for the Cooler Boost with software, it seems to be MSI technology.  See here for someone trying to do the same thing. As I understand it the cooler boost just makes your fans run at maximum RPM, so you should be able to reach the same effect with some fancontroller software, if you can find one that recognises your fans.      ... Hi there, It's quiet sad but the cost of a new microphone will probably be the same price of a new phone. Median do not sell individual parts and require you to send your phone as there is not any known repair service centre with th UK which can deal with this sort of repair. Hi @DLON,    Most notebooks I've seen have soldered CPU's, and usually the GPU is also part of the motherboard, without an option to upgrade it. I'm not sure if this is also the case for your notebook, but I'd be inclined to go by the response from the Medion Employee.      ... View more

I'd already seen the Russian gentleman expressing his disgust (?) at how deeply buried the CMOS battery was. I eventually extracted it using a small pair of pliers, but replacing the battery didn't solve the problem, which I'll raise in a separate thread. ... View more

hi Bart, I  guess my explanation was not quite correct, because the power led is working, and as you suggested next step will be to test with an other ram module. an other thing is, that the north bridge is heating a little up, I dont now if that is normal?. When you switch power on ( with ram module/ or without Ram module ) the cpu fan lowers the speed after 25 seconds. According to Medion a new motherboard will cost 300 Euro, so I guess must find an other motherboard, if it's not the ram module, time will show.   kind regards Bjarne   ... View more
