Hi @jasperan,   To my knowledge there is no way to simply reset a BIOS password, worst case scenario you might even have to replace the mainboard :(.  Maybe you can try different variations of the password to try and reproduce the typo? Hi @ferk,    I'd contact Medion directly and ask if it is ok to open the case just to be on the safe side, but in my experience opening the case does not void the warranty, as long as you don't damage anything. If you ever need a repair you might need to restore there original spec of the PC though, so if you upgrade any parts, keep the originals. I dont know this exact motherboard, but I'd expect there to be one PCI-e 16x and two PCI-e 1x slots (one of the PCI-e 1x slots might be obscured by the graphics card though). Hi @cojes,    I don't think AMD or Nvidia should matter, I've exchanged Nvidia and ATI cards on a few systems before, both AMD and Intel based, never had any problems with it. My bet would be a problem with either the screen or the cable, or perhaps the BIOS is set to the internal GPU instead of the discrete card? What happens when you reinstall the original card?      ... Hi @djluck,    I think the keyboard for this Dutch notebook should work for you: https://www.medion.com/medionserviceshop/search?sbf=true&sfs=1&msn=30020028 They use a US international layout, the only difference with a regular US keyboard is the addition of the € sign as far as I know.  The keyboard is out of stock but you can send a request for itso hopefully they still have some stock somewhere or can order it.      ... Hi @cojes,    I dont have experience with this specific board, but I cant imagine it being a compatibility issue with the  motherboard, assuming all cards you tried are UEFI compatible. Is your powersupply sufficient for the new cards? I think the 1050TI needs a 6 pin powerconnection? Hi @bch123,    It does sound like a defective motherboard to me, but the only thing that I find strange (if I understood your post correctly), is that the PC does nothing at all (no power-led either?), but it does turn on and give the correct POST error when you remove the RAM. Hi @TerryofFrome,    As far as I understand it, just about every CPU made in de last decade have the spectre and meltdown vulnerability. Meltdown can be patched by the operating system, but for Spectre there is no definitive solution since it is a result of the way CPU's work on a hardwarelevel.  Though I think the risks for common use is very low, since an attacker would need physical acces to your system to be able to do anything with the spectre vulnerability. Just make sure that your browser, operatingsystem and antivirus software is up to date and I think you'll be fine.       ... View more

Hi @Syphareon,    As far as I've been able to find online, the problem with the CPU load of the IntelPTTEKRecertification.exe should be solved with an update of the Intel managment engine drivers (and I think this will also update the capability license service), but they are not (yet) available on the Medion support site. Hi @jim232,    It is a bit hard to see on the picture, but I think the memory slots are to the left of the harddrive (the metal frame with the big circular hole in it). The black stuff there looks like some black plastic foil I have seen before in notebooks, I think this is some sort of insulation. Try to carefully lift it up a bit and see if the modules are below it (if it is indeed a bit of foil).   ... View more
