Hallo allerseits,

So geht's:

Hi all,

with some recent updates for Android 6.x and 7.x we ran into the problem that the Recovery system cannot properly read the update file if an SD card formatted as "internal storage" is in use. That's a regrettable bug in our Updates app that we can only really fix by delivering a successful update. So we have a little chicken-and-egg problem here. Luckily there is an easy workaround: Those users affected by the problem can install a newer version of our Updates app and try to search for the system update again.

This is how it works:

  1. In the Settings app, section "Security", activate the checkbox "Unknown sources" to allow the installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store.
  2. Download the file MedionUpdater_1.5.4.apk, ideally using the Chrome browser on the tablet.
  3. Tap the downloaded file (for example in the Downloads app) to install it.
  4. Confirm the system dialogs. There should be no (certificate) error!
  5. Deactivate "Unknown sources" again.
  6. Use the Updates app to seach, download and install the update.

If there are questions or feedback please try to use this topic because the problem affects multiple devices and we want to keep the discussion in a single place.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Cheers!

The Doctor
