Medion Akoya E6239 MD98844 CMOS battery replacement

Can anybody tell me how to get the CMOS battery out? I can see it, but can't extract it. Do I need to split the case apart to extract it?

thanks

Hi @cmos

I've found this video that shows the location of the battery, I think you will indeed need to remove the bottom cover to be able to replace the battery.

Kind regards,
Bart

Thanks for the reply Bart and my apologies for taking so long to respond. The laptop's been on the back burner due to lack of time. I'd already seen the Russian gentleman expressing his disgust (?) at how deeply buried the CMOS battery was. I eventually extracted it using a small pair of pliers, but replacing the battery didn't solve the problem, which I'll raise in a separate thread.
