MEDION AKOYA E2228T MD 62250 DC input jack

I am trying to identify the make/model of the DC Input jack on a MEDION AKOYA E2228T MD 62250.  The socket has been damaged, everything else is working correctly, so I am looking to change the jack.

I have searched multiple suppliers but cannot identify what the DC jack actually is, could MEDION let me know the make/part number for the DC jack?

Not problem in replacing it, I design, make, and repair similar PCBs - seems a shame to junk the machine when all it needs is a few £'s on a new DC jack.

@jc101

I have received the pictures by mail and the ones you uploaded on the forum are now loaded.

I am awaiting feedback from my colleagues as to what more info we can give you . hopefully later today or tomorrow.
For a piece that is part of the motherboard we would normally just replace the whole motherboard.
An out of warranty repair like that would probably come in at about 160 £ all in.
We can give you a proper quote free of charge of course if you send it in .

Cheers!

Hi @jc101

Sorry for the delay in my reply. Unfortunately we are unable to provide more info on this particular part.
We will only be able to offer an out of warranty quote , should you wish to avail yourself of this service.

I am sorry I could not be of further assistance in this case.

Cheers!

Hello, I have the same problem as you! Did you find the connector?

Sadly no, and I've been doing quite a bit of looking.  It's annoying, just a cheap part to bring a device back to life, but I can't find the original source.

Thank you for your reply.

I too have searched everywhere.

Maybe find a broken laptop E22xxT?

@jc101 @Phil3678

So for waking you guys up but I have the same issue but instead of wondering where to find a input jack (If it was in 2000 already a hassle it won’t be easier now) my question is easier though for a noob like me difficult.

I have the original adaptor stripped and I’d like to know where to solder the positive wire and where to solder the negative wire. The jack is completely broken and I’d like to revive the laptop so I can at least get the data off.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @astrologyisfake and welcome

It's relatively easy - look at your adapter, it says which one is on the inside and which one is on the outside

Thanks Fishtown, I got that far. 🙂 Question is about the motherboard (EM_NT16H_MED_V1.0A) itself. I don't know where on the board to solder the positive and the negative wire to.

Hi @astrologyisfake

You can actually see where the inner "nose" is and where the outer stiffener is.

Alternative:

The USB board NBC USB BOARD V3 EMD NT16H is installed for the E2228T with the MSN: 40067956 (unfortunately not available).

In the sister model E2227T, the board NBC USB BOARD V2 EMD NT16H is installed with the MSN: 40063489 (this is available).

The power supply adapter is the same, so the socket should also be the same

You can also get USB board version 1.0 (E2215T) used:
