WiDi (Wireless Display)

WiDi (Wireless Display)

Definition

Wireless display enables image transmission from a terminal device to an image display device (usually a television). WiDi was invented by intel and allows image content to be transmitted without the need for cables.

The content to be transmitted is sent to the display device via WiFi (either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz), usually compressed in the H-264 codec.

Devices need to run on Android (version 4.2 "Jelly Bean" and later) or Windows (Windows 7 and later)
