Calcified water pipes in coffee machine are one of the most common causes of various faults. Limescale can build up after just a few uses of your device. Depending on the water hardness at your location, this can even happen overnight. Residual water in the hoses can lead to lime deposits and clogging. You will always find instructions on how to decalcify in your machine's manual. It is important that you follow these instructions.
To clean your coffee maker perform the descaling procedure according to the manual and observe how full the jug gets. Then repeat the process a second time.
As soon as the descaling solution has run through halfway and the jug is about half full, disconnect the machine from the power supply.
Now the machine is filled from the inside with the descaling solution and the solvent used can also remove stuck lime from your machine.
Depending on the descaler used, you should not leave it in the machine for too long (30 minutes to 4 hours).
After this time, turn the machine back on and allow the descaling solution to finish running. Afterwards, rinse your machine several times with clear water by running the machine with a full water tank and without coffee.
We recommend vinegar or citric acid, two tablespoons per 8 cups of water. If you use descaling solutions from the free market, please be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
