X30 MD62462 keyboard replacement

I damaged my keyboard and I’m struggling with how to take it out, does anyone know how to remove it? I would be very grateful if someone could write down a few steps. Thank you very much in advance

hi

Please see some steps below. However depending on your experience this can be a delicate/complicated job, sending to your local Medion service centre would be the best and safest option.

  • Remove the bottom case: This usually requires unscrewing several screws, then carefully prying off the bottom cover.
  • Take out the fans and heat sinks: These parts might be in the way, so you'll need to disconnect and remove them. Be very cautious about thermal paste and liquid metal as any contact with the mainboard will damage the unit.
  • Disconnect the keyboard cables: Once you have access to the keyboard, you’ll  see two ribbon cables connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. Carefully detach these, often by gently lifting the connectors with a plastic tool, and these are in very delicate positions under the board.
  • Remove the old keyboard: After disconnecting the cables, the keyboard can typically be popped out with a bit of pressure or gentle prying, as it is stuck down around the edges.
  • Install the new keyboard: Insert the new keyboard in place. Make sure it fits correctly, and reattach the ribbon cables, it comes with an adhesive around the edges to keep it securely in place. The fans and heat sinks will need to be reconnected and bottom case screws reinserted (again all of this is a delicate job)
