Webcam not present in device manager

Good morning.

Upon trying to use the webcam for the first time I notice that it is not visible to the operating system and is not present in device manager.

Furthermore there does not appear to be a driver for it on the medion website.

Fn-F10 does give message in top left of screen "camera on" and "camera off" but makes no difference to anything.

I believe it should be in the device manager under "imaging devices", all the "other devices" (unknown) seem to be related to bluetooth.

There is definitely a web cam physically present! I can see it in the usual place

Hi @Squowse

No driver installation required for the camera but you had to activate the camera app.

Thanks but the camera app can't find the an attached camera.

I'm wondering if there is a loose cable inside

@Squowse

 It is not necesariily to activate the Windos Kamera App. Youcam and others do the same job.

Check first in Bios for I/O access,, with my Laptop bios it is on the page Security -->  I/O Interface -->  USB  Interface. I can  lock the camera access separately. the same with Bluetooth Card Reader etc, The same for  LAN or WiFi

And the question is if you activated the camera in Windows Settings.

Go to settings --> search for camera -> Privacy settings  --> activate "Allow acccess to camera"; and second  on the same page -->  "Allow apps to  access your camera".

Bye, daddle

Edit: Typo
