Hi folks, I come seeking aid.
I've recently purchased a Erazer beast x40 4090 gaming laptop, this was a refurbished laptop I believe.
I have a strange issue and I don't know how to solve it. Each time i load up the laptop I get a weird grey tint on everything.
The strange thing is when I go into settings and click on System and then display it instantly reverts back to the normal colours without me clicking on anything. Now while this is an easy fix, it's not a permanent one and I'm worried that it might be an issue with the GPU itself, I know buying a refurbished laptop isn't the greatest idea as they never really get tested properly but it was £300 cheaper.
Has anyone else had this problem with their erazer beast x40 laptop? Do i need to be returning the laptop?
I also have a battery issue which is showing 100% but is completely dead, but I'm not too worried about this right now, I just want to fix the colour issue.
Help! 🙂

Hello @Blagan and welcome.
I would return it.
Who knows what else might be defective? If it comes from a dealer, you still have a warranty even if it's a refurbished one. (At least that's the case in Germany.)
Personally, I would get a new Beast X40.
The replacement battery already costs €145 in the store. https://www.medion.com/medionserviceshop/de/p/akku-akku-4-zellen-49wh-40084113
There's not much difference left, and you have a significantly longer warranty.
If you don't want that, disconnect the defective battery and remove it from the device. This reduces the risk of something happening (the battery leaking or bursting). Cause/Effect: With a bit of luck, this may also resolve the gray tint issue.
