Erazer Scout E20 laptops show black screen after sleep

Hi

I have bought two Medion Erazer Scout E20 laptops and they both have the same problem. When the laptops are left alone for long enough or the lid has been closed so the pc goes to sleep, it only shows a black screen when pressing the power button or opening the lid again. I have to press and hold the power button to force the pc to shutdown and then boot the pc up again losing whatever was going on before the pc fell asleep.

Any suggestions to fix this is appreciated.

Hello @EmergencyDuck and welcome
What does it look like under System Settings? Setting: What happens when you close the lid? Maybe change the settings there

Hi @EmergencyDuck ,

were you able to fix this energy issue inbetween, or do you need further assistance?

Cheers

Yes, I have the exact same problem with the same laptop. Waking up after hibernation lights up the leds on the front for power and hdd-activity and such, it lights up the keyboard illumination, the fan(s) start(s) spinning, but the screen remains black. I have updated the drivers, have tried the options I found elsewhere on the internet (Win+Ctrl+Shift+B, Win+P, and Ctrl+Alt+Del), all to no avail. It does not matter if the laptop is hooked up to a power outlet or if it's on battery power.

I dislike having to force a power down by pressing the power button until it powers off, just after it has woken up from hibernation or sleep mode. It might, for all I know, interrupt a Windows Update or something like that, but there seems to be no other method. Well, only solution I can think of is turning of any sleep or hibernation mode possibilities. But any other suggestions would be very welcome. Would like to hear how you have resolved this, @EmergencyDuck .
