Erazer Laptop "boot device missing"

Hi all

When trying to turn on the laptop it says "default boot device or boot failed"

I looked online and all the tutorials to fix this seem to be lenova laptops with different settings in BIOS

Anyone have an idea how I csn fix this? Laptop was working fine earlier!

Thank you!

@Lavelleuk

Than something went wrong with the bootdrive. As long as you  didn't mess around in the Bios before.

You can try to repair  the Bootdevice booting abilitiý with the repair options of a Windows installation medium.

Best is, you make a USB Stick with the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft Google for Microsoft.com /software-download/windows10

Then you boot from stick, on he first pages there is the possibility to call Repair-Options. Let it check the startsequence.

But often it is a defect in the ssd-controller.

Hi guys, thanks for the help

I actually sorted it, I opened up the laptop and something had come loose, I think the ssd drive, I just pushed it back in and no issues since!

@Lavelleuk

Nice to hear. Was it a M.2 SSD drive, of a 2.5" Laptop model.

A  M.2 drive shouldn't come loose; it is fixed with a screw at the one end opposite the port.

@Benjamin01

If your PC is the same, check if the bootdrive came loose; otherwise the booting sequency or thedrive is defect.
