Hi all
Just bought a Beast in Jan 25. Worked ok for 3 weeks then started crashing during games after playing for maybe 30mins. Message comes up saying gpu has crashed and could be due to overheating or overclocking. It’s definitely not over clocked and all fan vents are clean and clear for ventilation. Have tried same games on another median laptop using a RTX 3050 card with same steam account and same software with no problems whatsoever. Just wondered if it could be a problem with the RTX 4080 graphics card?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Stephen005 ,
There are a few things you can check or try:
Drivers: Even though you’ve just bought the laptop, it’s worth checking if the GPU drivers are up to date. Sometimes new models need driver updates that improve stability. You can download the latest drivers for the RTX 4080 from Nvidia's website.
Temperature Monitoring: While you mentioned the vents are clear, it’s possible that the GPU is overheating despite that. Try using a program like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor to keep track of the GPU temperature while gaming. If the GPU is consistently reaching high temperatures (above 85°C), it could be an issue with thermal management.
Check for System/Software Conflicts: Sometimes, specific software running in the background can cause crashes (antivirus, background apps). Try running the games in clean boot mode (with minimal background processes) to see if it affects stability.
Reinstall the GPU drivers: Even if the drivers are up to date, it's a good idea to completely uninstall and reinstall them. Use a tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the current GPU driver before reinstalling a fresh copy.
Kind regards
