2.5" to 3.5" SSD sata adaptor for Medion Eraser x86003 MD34496

Hello,I hope you are well.

I bought a Kingston A400 960GB 2.5" SSD for my Eraser x86003 MD34496.

I looked inside to base unit but I couldn't actually see any spare sata cables or an actual bay to install it so thought I would just order a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor for the hot swap mobile rack at the front.

However, upon looking inside of the mobile rack I noticed the available sata ports the 2.5" ssd will slide into in the hot sway bay are on the left side and most adaptors will leave the SSD sata ports just off centre.

Can anyone recommend a compatible adaptor for the Eraser x86003 MD34496??

Sorry for such a stupid question but Ive looked everywhere including manual and I can't get the info.

I'm not good at this computer stuff.

Thank you for your time and help.

Teddy.

Frustration 😭😭😭

I bought the correct sized screws (screws in picture just display) and of course the screws prevent me inserting the track back in correctly.

I played about with tray for 15mins trying to get it to fit but I didn't want to break the pc or new hard drive.

The screws are right size/length and are countersunk but no joy.

Anyone any suggestions?

Help very much appreciated.

Teddy

Corrrection:

This screw is to fit a M.2 SSD. Sorry

Your screw is to thick. You do need a M2 screw. Or the thread doesn't fit- he screw must be positioned very delicately to screw it in (because of the fine thread)

The M3 x 4mm screws I bought seemed to screw in easily and was a good fit.

The problem seemed to be head protruded out slightly too much. Maybe by a mm.

So I need a screw to fit an m.2?

No, if the thread fits it is oK. You should get a  more flatheaded screw,

Or grind the head flat with a file.

But on a vice, not in the PC case, and carefully remove all metal shavings before installation.

Yeah I'm definitely not filing down screw heads. Will just buy different head on screws.
