Medion i3-530

Hi

Spec....

Motherboard MS-7616

Intel Core i3-530 (2.93Ghz 4 mb Intel Smart Cache)
Nvidia Geforce G210 Directx 10 Graphics card with 512mb
3 GB DDR3 SDRAM
1 TB S-ATA disk
Multiformat DVD/CD burner
High Speed Wireless Lan 802.11n-Standard

This desktop is quite old but still works okay. However, on trying to increase RAM to 8GB (2 x 4GB), on startup it immediately goes to "Blue Screen". When I switch off and put the original 3GB RAM back in, it starts up as normal, no Blue Screen. I have reset the BIOS and tried with only 4GB stick. No difference. Help.

Hi @WalFin ,

do you have the MSN number of your product?

it is an 8-digits number written in the label underneath it.

I presume you mean the S/N. Yes, it's on a label at the bottom of the back panel. Should I disclose this number?

I also have a Art,-Nr which is 8 digits. The MED S/N is considerably more than 8 digits, though.

Okay, just found out that the Art Nr is the MSN and yes it is 8 digits. Is it safe to broadcast this number on this forum?

Forgive my ignorance in these matters, please see the last RAM I purchased (see photo). Is this one compatible with my MS-7616. I have tried two other RAM cards which were returned (with exactly the same "blue screen" error). Three faulty RAMs is surely almost impossible? Not sure the jpg is showing for some reason. So the RAM is PATRIOT, PSD34G133381, PS00 1042, 4GB PC3-10600 CL9 (4GB PC3-10600 1333MHz CL9). Hope this helps?RAMRAM
