Medion desktop can't find new-installed SSD

I have mounted a new Samsung NVMe SSD through a M.2 adapter to the PCIe x1 port in my older Medion desktop. Windows 10 and my data are migrated from my harddisk to the SSD.

Unfortunately the BIOS can’t recognize the SSD - only the harddisk, the CD/DVD and USB come up, but not the SSD.

When Windows is booted up on the HDD I can open the SSD in Windows and see what’s installed on it - programs and files, so the hardware is correctly installed.

I wonder if there is a newer BIOS update that has solved the problem ?  -  but I can’t find it on the internet.

I hope someone in this community has an Idea to solve the problem.

Data from my Medion desktop:

From the label:

Medion MD8895 P5350 D

Modell:  PC MT 14

Typ:  MED MT 742G

MED S/N:  14926010030197

BIOS:

Version:  E7728MLN.209

Build date:  12/22/2011

CPU:  Core i7-2600K

Motherboard:

MS-7728 v1.x

@Svend

Hi Svend, which drivers did you install for the adapter and for the NVME MM.2 SSD? May be your 13 year old PC will not be able to manage a M.2 NVME SSD

Cheers, daddle

Hi daddle  -  thanks for a quick reply

Both the DeLock adapter and the Samsung Pro 1 TB SSD say that no driver is nessasary.

But I think You are right - the PC is too old.

I just hoped Medion had made a new BIOS update to solve the problem.

Best Regards Svend

@Svend

Not necessarily. Which OS is installed? And which partition scheme? To install a NVME  M.2  SSD it needs  UEFI and a GPT Partition.

But I guess your PC only can run in Bios mode?

Hi daddle

The OS is W-10 Pro and the partition style is GPT. The BIOS is an old native type.
