Hello.

I have stumbled upon many threads with the same issue as I had : the computer failed to go past the boot, likely du to a windows update. Leading the computer to be stuck on the logo.

Windows repair media could be booted but not go past POST. memtest ran without issue. Linux same as windows, boot but no POST.

How to resolve:

Read : https://mcendon.github.io/gigabyte/BIOS_update_operation_instructions.pdf
Download the .zip, unpack it to your an USB key. just to be sure copy the bootx64.efi (or whatever it was named I forgot) at the root also.
Then download the bios update for your motherboard (mine was : https://cdn.medion.com/downloads/software/00_Bios_Crawler_E50_Defender_P50_Deputy_P60_Scout_E30.zip)
Unzip the update to the usb key along the .efi and folder extracted previously.
Restart you computer and boot on the USB (make sure secure boot is off, don't know if it matters but I disabled it)
Plug-in the power if it isn't already
you will be met with a shell, type the name of the .efi at the root of the usb.
The update will start, then the PC will shutdown, once it's done start the computer and you should be good to go!

Whoop small edit, after running the .efi, type the name of the .BIN file to start the update.

Looks like it's my turn to struggle.

I have P15609.

Today it just stuck at Medion logo and would not boot.

I tried all common stuff, like pressing F2, F10, F12. No luck at all

And then I found this forum, and by simptoms it seems same Bios issue as a lot of medion

users experiencing. From my understanding I need 2nd computer where I will need to create boot USB stick

And correct files

. Can anyone assist with this task. Probably step number 1. will be identifying and downloading files.

first of all you maybe would have received a faster answer, if you would have launched a new/separate request, but here we are, hoping to help you with your issue.
Generally we would need the 8-digit MSN article number ( 3003xxxx) to provide precise help, but when you own a machine with Windows 10 OS, wie would suggest to to a installation with the official Microsoft Media Creation Tool

I belive my windows recently updated itself to windows 11.

Is this Microsoft media creation tool actually a form of boot USB?

So basically from my understanding I need another computer /laptop where I will download this software and create this USB creation tool?

Soory it was long time ago when I was dealing with installation of windows or any other core software.

Yes, that's correct. You need a second computer to create a bootable USB drive.

Then plug it in, start the computer, and press F7 to access the boot menu.

If it is welcome I will answer your questions.

First: yes, you need a functioning Laptop or Desktop PC to download. And a minimum 8 GB empty USB stick

Second: Yes the USB Stick is a Windows Installer stick, containing the latest Windows 10 (or 11) Version. Which is advisable to apply because your Laptop was designed for Win 10. You can or install Windows from scratch complete clean; -- or with the offered Repair Link you can start a Win RE, for trying to restore your defective installation, probably a problem with the starting sectors.

Well, now you got almost the same basic information double. That should help! 😉

But there is still another way you could try:

Using Power Recover, Manual page 36 -> https://cdn.medion.com/downloads/anleitungen/bda_p15811_p15805_p15609_p15603_p15601_en.pdf

In a second partition D there is an image in a folder Recover. This is the basic installation image at time of purchase.

You could start your Laptop with the F11 tab pressed, to enter Power Recover. This will work if there is no UEFI or hardware, or electronic disc fault

It allows to reinstall the basic Win 10 installation, with all the drivers ready installed.

The only small disadvantage is you have to make a Windows Update afterwards.

But this is easily done, if you make use of the Win 10 installation stick, and do an inplace update

Just call setup.exe in the inserted Windows USB stick, ooted the newly restored C-drive with the original Windows factory Installation at time of purchase.

Afterwards you restored Windows with the Power Recover method.

This updates your Windows to the latest version in one simple go!

absolutely, at first you have to create a bootable USB driver (see instruchtions/informations on the Microsoft website) with another available device with internet connection and afterwards start your device with the created USB stick plugged in.

It´s no problem,if further assistance is needed, but there is also plenty of information provided by MS

There is a problem when I press F11 to enter bios menu it doesn't work.

But if I remove Ssd it goes to bios straight away after message no boot able device found or something like this.

F11 does not open the bootmenu, but solely should start the Power Recover OS out of the OEM partition. While switching on the PC on tab the F11 tab repeatedly.

Well, F11 should start a separate small OS, which s located on the primary disk in a separate partition called OEM partition, 1 GB in size, and loads the Power Recover Program.

If this partition on the disk was deleted, Power Recover can not start. Or if with the UEFi was messed around.

You can connect the bootdisk to another PC, and check with data storage management, if the OEM partition (1 GB) is at the end of the boot disk.

But if the PC boots and ends up in Bios, because there is no OS (Windows) found, nor with F11 the OEM partition starts booting into Power Recover, then something is wrong.with the SSD. Like you say with the SSD removed the PC boots into Bios saying no OS was found. This is a normal behavior if no medium with an OS was found. But it also states the UEFI is functioning normally.

Which tells us the SSD is faulty. If logically (startsectors?) or electronically (defect in the built in controller) I can not say.

You could try to boot into Win RE with a Windows Installer USB stick (create with the MediaCreationTool) , then check the start sectors in advanced Options.

Can I remove whole ssd and use it with external sleeve with 2nd laptop and scan for bad sectors?

Yes of course. But if it starts repairing start sectors I do not know if it takes the parameters from the guest pc. So at least the other pc should have the same OS installed. Or Win 10 or Win11, the starting procedure should be the same.

how can i check exactly if OEM partition is at the end of a boot disk?

also quite strange thing happened today. laptop actually fired up just randomly, but then after restart same issue again. me being stupid didnt copy all my stuff.

--> "data storage management" is the same as Disk Management:

In Windows -> Press Win key plus X --> in the drop-down menu at the upper part select Disk Management and wait a moment....
In the lower section of the upcoming Disk Management mask you see the graphical display. The boot disk (containing the C partition) is displayed with its partitions.

Edit:

But this is the bootdisk C:\ of the actual PC you bootet. It is not the disk from the other PC wherefrom you took the questionable disk out. This one might now have the drive letter D or E, depending on how many disk are in the actual PC.

On which PC are you testing the disk? Is it a Medion PC as well? If yes please name it with its numbers.

Don't get mixed up - If i´t is a Medion PC, the bootdisk of this PC (with the C:\ partition) could have an OEM partition as well.

Best would be if you make a screenshot of the disk management Window (from its lower half).

Edit end.

If a partition with a size of 1 GB and the label OEM is displayed at the end of the disk, then this is the partition containing the alternative operating system with the Power Recover program.

Hi. Sorry forgot to reply.

So this is an odd one

My window boot sector got some faults and this would prevent laptop from boot even in bios.

So effectively I got another laptop, transferred my files, then formatted ssd, insert it back into laptop and reinstall Windows.

And it now works, medion support never came back to me with bios flash file, even they promised.
