Hello, what were the steps you followed to install linux? through a dvd? usb? What distribution do you want to install on your laptop?

Hello,
I successfully installed Linux Mint 13 on my Medion Erazer X7820 (MD99085). It had Windows 8 preinstalled, so I first needed to boot into the BIOS and then switch the booting mode to the legacy mode. As far as I know, each Linux distro should boot with Legacy Boot turned on.
