Mixing RAM?

I recently upgraded the RAM in my Crawler E10. So now I have this spare stick that I thought I could put into my P15607.
However, the RAM in there at the moment is labeled:

8GB 1rx8 pc4-2666v-sa1

The spare stick is 8GB 1rx8 pc4-3200aa-sa2.

Can I install both of them or should I stay with just one, and if so, which is the better one?

I would just test it, and put it in. Then compare with CPU-Z .

If the MHZ rate decreases, compared to the actual status with the original RAM-module only, it would depend on your programs requirements. Do they need more volatile memory, or are 8 GB good enough?

Your faster RAM (3200MHz) is of little use to you, since according to the service manual only 2666MHz is supported.

Of course it should function in the P15607!

Das Modul mit der 3200 MHz Spezifikation, das nach Upgrade des Crawler E10 RAM übrig blieb, wegen der MHzSpecicht im P15607 funktionieren solle ist nicht schlüssig. Das Modul kommt ja aus aus demCrawler E10 mit einem Clevo Board mit den SPECS für RAM auch nur bis zu 2666MHz..

Dort funktionierte das übrig gebliebene Modul mit 3200 MHz, das dort auch auf einem CLV Board mit Unterstützung nur bis 2666 MHz funktionierte.

Die richtige Frage, die sich stellt ist, ob beide RAM, das eine Modul mit den Specs bis zu 2666MHz und das andere mit den Specs 3200 MHz sich zusammen vertragen.

Deswegen schrieb ich er solle mit CPU-Z die Geschwindigkeit vergleichen, nicht dass dann beide im Mixbetrieb auf 2400 MHz oder niedriger zurückfallen.

@Fishtown , I didn’t have access to those details so that’s super helpful to know. Thanks for the info I’ll leave the original RAM in the second laptop as is for now…
If I can take liberties though … which would you say is better: 1x 8GB @ 3200MHz or 2x16BG @2667MHz

Off course 2x 16 GB would be better than 8 GB RAM with 3200MHz. Your motherboard anyway only supports up to 2666 MHz.

But I am sorry, you didn't understand fully what I wrote in my last post. It was partially in German for Fishtown.

Your spare ram module with 3200 MHz specs functioned in the Crawler E10, which itself only supports RAM up to 2666MHz! The motherbooard in the P15607 also supports 2666MHz like the board in the crawler.

So I definitely would try if the spare module functions in the P15607.
