Hi, I have an Akoya E4214 laptop. It has 8Gb RAM and I have previously successfully installed a 500Gb SSD. After the last SSD died I reinstalled a regular HD which worked fine. I am now trying to install a 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD without success. The SSD is recognised in the BIOS. I can boot to a USB with the Windows10 install software and Windows says that it needs to restart to finish installing. When I restart the machine it hangs. I have changed the boot order, removed the USB, Installed a cloned image of the regular HD. The laptop continues to hang when the SSD is installed. I have also installed the SSD in the extra hard drive bay - same result. I have tested the SSD in other machines and it works fine. Could this be a BOIS issue? If so, can I update the firmware (it is currently version 1.00). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from Jase in Australia 🙂
