please clarify extended warranty rules

hi all, i have just bought my erazer p15 laptop yesterday, i believe i have a 2yr warranty with this product, i live in the UK, i am looking to take out out the 2yr extended warranty, So if i do, will that give me 4yrs in total, or does it start after the initial first year, so only get 3yrs in total.

Also, how long before i can't take the warranty out, is it within 3mnths of purchase for example, or can i pay for the warranty after one year still.

The warranty extension information can be found here

If you choose 1 or 2 years, it will be an addition to the basic warranty that was provided when you purchased your laptop.

There is no time limit providing that the device is still within warranty when you take it out.
