random reboots on X7859

Hello wonderful people!

I've had a X7859 for a little more than 2 years and was pretty happy with it until it started randomly rebooting a few months ago. At first it was occasional but now it's more 5-10x a day and it's clearly interfering with my work as a freelancer (software engineering).

It happens on my main OS Windows 10 but also on Ubuntu. It's not linked to the temperatures as I've been monitoring them and am employing a cooling pad. I don't have any software/OS errors and as it's happening on both OSes I think it's more a hardware issue.

I've found that possibly an update of my BIOS could help (I have the 1.07.05 installed), I tried to install the 1.07.07 from http://www1.medion.de/downloads/index.pl?op=detail&id=19081&type=treiber&lang=uk but I have no idea how to install it as the GUI doesn't accept the new bios files and the DOS version gives me an error. I don't find any update of the bios on Windows Update either.

Has this problem occurred to other people? I could use some help here 🙂
